NIH's web page on gain-of-function research is replaced by one on “enhanced potential pandemic pathogens”
Between October 19 and 22, 2021, the NIH page titled Gain-of-Function Research Involving Potential Pandemic Pathogens began redirecting to a new page, Research Involving Enhanced Potential Pandemic Pathogens, which no longer carried the earlier general definition. NIH told Science the terms had been misused and were confusing.
The two archived pages are the evidence. The date range is the Wayback Machine's: the old address was captured intact on October 19 and answered with a redirect by October 22.
